How Intuition & Obsession Led This Founder to $8M+ a Year Selling Lockers, with Mustard Made Co-Founder Becca Stern (Part 1)

Season 1, Ep. 711

Imagine a world where women receive equal funding and opportunities as men, are free from the systemic barriers we face on a daily basis, and are in control of our own wealth and finances. That’s the future we’re working towards here at Female Startup Club.

Hi, I’m Doone - your host and hype girl. If you’re new here, this is the popular business podcast that takes you behind the scenes of some the world’s most successful entrepreneurs - that happen to be women.

Women like Becca Stern from Mustard Made. Becca Stern is the Co-founder and Creative Director of Mustard Made, a cult homewares brand known for its colourful range of vintage-inspired metal lockers. Becca launched Mustard in collaboration with her sister, Jess, in 2018 and has since grown the business into a thriving, global brand spanning three continents and with a team of over 30. The idea for Mustard Made was inspired by Becca’s love of vintage lockers and the shared dream of creating a business that allowed her and Jess to spend more time together as sisters. In this episode, we dive into the incredible founder story of a single parent with a passion for conceptual art, who, through a series of unexpected twists, casual jobs, and a love for beautiful yet functional design, went on to build a multimillion-dollar business selling lockers with her sister—proving that sometimes, success comes from following your instincts and taking things one step at a time.

Whether you're just starting your side hustle, scaling your biz or looking for inspiration, join us on this crazy journey to learn all the good stuff like raising venture capital, selling your startup for life changing money, mistakes you can avoid and how to keep your mental health in check.
