Fearlessly Failing with Lola Berry

This week has been fun one, I feel like August energy is bright, might be all those Leo vibes. We have 3 Leo’s in our lives and 2 of them just so happen to live in Los Angeles (and within 10 mins of us) so it’s been a week of celebrations and birthday planning. When I say birthday planning, I mean me thinking about pressies, I LOVE getting people gifts, must be my love language, I’m not as pumped to receive them, but boy oh boy do I love giving pressies. For one friend, I made an Erewhon Hamper (spoiler alert; I did not stick to the budget), Los Angeleno’s know that Erewhon is the king of all things health and wellness, but it also comes with a premium price tag! The other pressie was from a LA local hardware shop that has unreal merch, and I love a bit of merch, so I got this mate a tee and a tote bag. They were rapt!

I’ve still be drawing daily, it feels really similar to meditation, creativity with no agenda, very different to auditioning where I need outside validation to be booked for the role. Still sticking to Western things, turns our deers are really heard to draw, as are buildings, I tried to draw a Western Saloon but it just wasn’t quite right, so I’ve moved onto full horses, running, rearing up, challenging but I’m starting to get the hang of it. Someone sent me a quote about creativity today:

“Creativity isn’t about making things. Creativity is what happens when life moves through you without resistance.”

2 auditions today, one’s a nurse for an Aussie feature film, the audition is legit 1 line so I imagine they’ll be hiring for the right look. Good news is that I have a full nurses uniform and stethoscope from past auditions so that should be pretty straightforward, they’re asking for aussie accent too, nice and chill.

The other is a callback, which always means the stakes feel much higher. I’ve worked with my dialect coach on this one. This one calls to be filmed in a bath towel and wet hair, so here goes nothing. Fingers and toes crossed.

That’s it from me, other than that been teaching yoges, taking yoges, lifting weights and hiking. All the fun health nerd stuff. And Lennon is brill, growing so fast it’s crazy!
