When I came home, I said I had nothing to lose, throw everything at it and see what happens. I had a new mindset, I didn’t really care what people thought anymore,” she explains.When talking about dating in rural Ireland and where to meet people Doireann advises that you just need to put yourself out there.“People just need to talk to people more in real life,” says Doireann.

In an exclusive interview with Anna Marie McHugh as the National Ploughing Championships 2026 draws to a close, the assistant managing director of the NPA talks about the success of this years show, the level of preparation that goes into putting on such a huge annual event and growing up surrounded by the Ploughing.
