Expecting You

Lets do this one last time! We (your parents) pick up where we left off last week talking to Eddie (your Uncle) and Kathy (your Ganny) about their favorite childhood memories. We all share stories about summers with cousins, Lady in Red, things we are grateful our parents documented or preserved for us (like we are with this podcast for you), and we play a game of Guess That Celebrity Baby Photo. Kiera, we love you so much and we are so glad we get to share all of these memories with you of the journey we had to meeting you. This is truly one of the most special times in our lives, and we are so happy to have also shared it with so many of you. Love Everyone!

We (your parents) can't believe it, but here we are at the end of our journey. From the first moment Kristen (your Mom) and Taylor (your Dad) found out and began expecting you over a Facetime call, to them (your parents) getting engaged, from morning sickness to mastitis, from poppy seed to c-section it's been one incredible ride. In part one of the finale to our time capsule podcast, we have a very special guest on. Eddie Alderson! AKA Uncle Eddie! And with him (drum roll please) Kathy Alderson AKA Ganny, is back! We (your parents) talk to Eddie about how he felt when he first heard he'd be an uncle to what is was like being at the hospital moments before Kiera (you) was born. We also talk about Ganny being a very nice squeaky wheel and we start to share some of our favorite childhood memories.

It's been one whole month since our last podcast and boy has a lot happened in the 5 weeks since Kiera (you) was born! Catch up on whole month of parenthood for us (your parents) as we break down all that has happened; from Kristen (your Mommy) being a super Mom while dealing with some breast feeding issues, Taylor (your Daddy) struggling with how to be helpful to discovering his secret Dad talents and purpose, to us (your parents) randomly getting annoyed with each other for no good reason and finally, Kristen's (your Mom's) boobs just always being out now! The moment we have all been building up to has arrived. We have been expecting you for over 22 episodes and now you're finally here! This week on Expecting You we (your parents) retell the entire story of how Kiera (you) was born! But very quietly, since Kiera (you) is just two days old and sleeping on Kristen (your Mommy). And we are extremely sleep deprived. And should probably be sleeping. And not recording the podcast right now. But boy are we sure glad we did!

It is week 39 of Kristen's (your Mommy's) pregnancy which means she is technically... FULL TERM! That's right folks (and Kiera) that due date could be any day now and we are very excited. This week the Dad Jokes are full grown and a Parent! (See what I did there?) We (your parents) cover all sorts of topics from our High School Proms, Kristen's (your Mom's) kissing phase, Taylor's (your Dad's) college nights, how we are entering the "Parents Club" and of course we follow up on the overly dramatized "pelvic exam" doctors visit from last week. You'll be shocked to hear what happened... or didn't happen haha.

It's week 38 of Kristen's (your Mommy's) pregnancy and the only way she can get out of bed now is rolling. This is the first week after Taylor (your Daddy) has hit the road for work, being gone for 6 days and makin that cash money for the family. While we (your parents) catch up, we talk about the due date coming up, Kristen (your Mom) wanting her water to break in public, what we (your parents) love most about each other, and Taylor (your Dad) expresses why he normally loves going to all doctor appointments but why he's against this weeks.

It's week 35 of Kristen's (your Mommy's) pregnancy which means *trumpets blare* Kiera (you) are full term!! AND, the size of a honeydew melon. This week is our Christmas episode! Taylor, (your Daddy) visited his Dad (your Pops) down in Florida while Kristen (your Mom) traded in her old car for a bigger one to fit our growing family! Taylor (your Dad) has already named it "Young Aunt Fey" but Kristen (your Mom) isn't having it. In this episode we (your parents) talk about our favorite Christmas traditions, games, strangest gifts we've received and hilarious story that happened this Christmas we will never let someone live down.

It's week 33 of Kristen's (your Mom's) pregnancy and we have a very, very special guest today. We've been trying to get her on for weeks and now that we live in her home it was easier than ever to pencil her in. Without further a due, the woman responsible for bringing Kristen (your Mom) into this world and who kept asking Taylor (you Dad) "When are you giving me a grandbaby??" The one, the only, Kathy Alderson! AKA Kristen's Mommy, AKA Kiera's (your) Ganny! This week is our longest episode yet as we dive into Kathy's (your Ganny's) pregnancy story with Kristen (you Mom) and what it was like when she was expecting her. Oh, and Kristen (your Mom) is breathing very heavy this week. So heavy, you might hear it throughout the podcast. Enjoy!
