  • 30. The Murder of Junko Furuta

    46:30
This week we’re discussing the kidnapping and murder of Junko Furuta, otherwise known as the concrete-encased high school girl murder. I know, and yes, it’s as gruesome as it sounds. From what it sounds like, this girl was murdered and buried in concrete, maybe even buried alive… but trust me, the truth was far, far worse. The brutality of the crime, and the lack of freedom of information within Japan meant that the newspapers deliberately did not report the details. It was not until the internet became common place that this murder became better known. This has quite possibly been the most interesting case we’ve done, but just a little listening discretion, it is gory, horrific and not for the faint hearted. We all love true crime and murder here at Everything with the Girls. But if it gets too much then we totally understand if you decide to sit this one out.

As I’m sure most of you are aware this crime exceeds itself in notoriety and fame, but before we get into this case it is important to just say that listener discretion is advised. This is a horrific crime, there is no doubt about that. Listener discretion is advised, we talk about some aspects of the case that some may find uncomfortable. In the episode, we pre-warn you when these details will be spoken about so that you can skip forward if you wish.If you're enjoying the show, Follow us on Instagram @everythingwiththegirlspod, Subscribe on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. If you liked this episode or any of our others, leave us a review on Apple Podcasts.
  • 28. Ep. 28 - Amelia Dyer

    21:27
In 1902, a man was doing some gardening at home, while he was gardening, he came across skeletal remains. Shocked, he notified the local authorities. What he found were remains of five infants that had been murdered. Each child had been strangled with white tape, “wrapped in some kind of material,” sprinkled with lime to reduce the smell of decay, and then buried. As investigators tried to identify the dead children, they realised that the man now lived in the former residence of an infamous baby murderer. Amelia Elizabeth Dyer killed up to 400 babies over several decades as Britain’s most famous baby farmer.Listen this week to discover Britain's 'secret' past of Baby Farming. • 27. Ep. 27 - The Murder of Kim Wall

    33:53
This week we’re taking you over to Denmark, to the murder of a highly respected journalist that occurred in August 2017. Kim Wall was an established, freelance journalist who had travelled the world from her home in Sweden, she had not long moved with her boyfriend to Copenhagen, Denmark and I’m sure the last thing on Kim’s or her partners minds when she left to interview the subject for her next story, would be that she wouldn’t return home that evening. If you're enjoying the show, Follow us on Instagram @everythingwiththegirlspod, Subscribe on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. If you liked this episode or any of our others, leave us a review on Apple Podcasts.
  • 26. Ep. 26 - Lizzie Borden

    42:49
This week we’re taking you back 129 years to the unproven family murder of Andrew and Abby Borden. It’s a story known across America and even globally. One that fascinates true crime enthusiasts but to this day, the case of the borden family murders remains officially unsolved, although most who know of the story believe they know exactly what happened. Embedded in American Folk law (if that's a thing lol) the case of Lizzie Borden even comes with its own rhyme children would sing as they skipped rope…“Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her mother forty whacks; when she saw what she’d done, She gave her father forty-one. Andrew Borden now is dead, Lizzie hit him on the head. Up in heaven he will sing, On the gallows she will swing.”Stay tuned to hear all the gory details of the crimes supposedly committed by Lizzie Borden.Want to start your own podcast?
