005 - Spas
In this episode we explore a different type of escape – one that doesn't always require travel: we‘re talking about spas and why people visit them and what they get from their visit. Is it about mind, body or both?
We give some historical context and visit one of the oldest spas in the UK – the Roman Baths in the city of Bath.
We also talk about an Etruscan spa that dates back 7000 years.
To get the inside track on what really makes spas work, we talk to an expert – Alex Hurt, who runs the Weavers’ House Spa in Lavenham, Suffolk
