The Emma Guns Show
Stacey Duguid | Breakdowns, Living in the Present and Being Seen.
Stacey Duguid has my heart after this conversation. We have many mutual friends but this was our first proper chat and, as you'll hear, it's exactly that - a searingly honest get-to-you-know-you conversation that just so happened to be committed to audio. I love an open guest who isn't afraid to tell it how it is and that's exactly what Stacey is.
From navigating infidelity, divorce, unhappy relationships, mental and emotional breakdowns, going back to bed, losing friends on the way, the discomfort of mid-life and what it really means to be neurodivergent in the world... This is a wide-ranging conversation and I sincerely hope you love it!

Bullet Points | I Can't Make this Mistake Again.
23:49|I am the first to poo-poo manifestation and all the plinky-plonky performative nonsense that sells itself as 'self help' but I've come to realise that goal-setting, particularly after a challenging 2024 might be a very smart move on my part. But where do I begin..?Subscribe to my SubstackWhen 'good' podcasts go 'bad'...
48:35|I wrote a feature on my Substack last week in response to the BBC investigation, which found that Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO podcast was responsible for 'amplifying harmful health information'. The response to that piece has been huge and I've expanded on my thoughts and feelings here.Email me office@emmaguns.comSubscribe to my SubstackBullet Points | My Crippling Anxiety

24:34|In this week's Bullet Points, I discuss the Gregg Wallace scandal, a huge topic in the UK this week. I share my thoughts having worked with Gregg previously. As London is 'crowned' the Phone Theft Capital of Europe, I share how a trip to London changed my perspective and how it has influenced my behaviour in the city. Finally, I share a useful hack that might help you focus more. Johann Hari and I discussed attention span on the show a while ago and you can listen to that here: Subscribe to my Substack: https://emmaguns.substack.com/Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/emmaguns/Email me at: office@emmaguns.comListen to the #EmmaGunsShow for free on:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6goNFPSxewG2CiP4nBcNNY?si=1448e83ed0c84479Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-emma-guns-show/id1102982843?i=1000599251800or search 'Emma Guns' wherever you listen to your podcasts.#greggwallace #masterchefscandal #masterchef #london #phonetheft #phonethieves #crimewave #attentionspan #johannhari #readinghackThe Power of a 'reframe', what depression looks like and ridiculous trends...
36:26|The power of the re-frame is something to explore in this episode of the podcast. I've set the bar quite high for myself in the past, especially professionally, and this year has been about relaxing that tight grip on 'success'. However, it has been a puzzler simply because a lot of the positive steps I've taken to relieve some of that pressure are the things I'd do when I was struggling with depression. In one instance, it allowed me to withdraw from the world, in another it's allowed me to show up as a better version of myself. So what's the difference? Also in this episode, I ponder whether being too self-aware is a fast-track to anxiety and I lose the pot over the current 'it' body cream.Email me at office@emmaguns.comSubscribe and comment on my Substack: https://emmaguns.substack.com/Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/emmaguns/Listen to the #EmmaGunsShow for free on:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/episode/6goNFPSxewG2CiP4nBcNNY?si=1448e83ed0c84479Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-emma-guns-show/id1102982843?i=1000599251800or search 'Emma Guns' wherever you listen to your podcasts.Bullet Points | Black Friday Madness, The Wicked press tour is a bit much? And how makeup can cure the winter blues.
20:05|On this episode, let's talk about how the super short days are making it harder to regulate mood (read: be in a good one!), how the Wicked film press tour is quite the sight to behold and how Black Friday has gone from being a day to a month-long extravaganza. Although, are you actually saving anything by getting involved.Read my Substack Email me at office@emmaguns.comFollow me on Instagram.Should your friend's enemies become your enemies?
