listen on iTunesListen on acastSarah Creal is the Lead, Global Partnership Initiatives for Estee Lauder companies and was in London for the launch of the second Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder collection, which she helped create and I stole her for an hour to record this episode of the show. In this episode Sarah tells me how to she went from the Clinique counter at Bergdorf Goodman to one of the most important roles in the world of beauty. Chances are there's a product in your makeup stores that Sarah has been a part of creating and in this episode she tells me how an idea becomes a reality, the challenges you face along the way and why being positive is vital. • From the Vault | Michael Maisey on facing death and embracing life.

    01:13:45
Trigger warning: this episode contains references to suicide.I’ve said it before and it’s highly likely I’ll say it again… One of the best things about creating this podcast is getting to have conversations with and see the world through someone else’s eyes. Seeing it through Michael Maisey’s lens, as someone who spent the majority of his teens in the prison system, overcame heroin addiction and survived a suicide attempt, who is now a successful businessman and motivational speaker is a real privilege.I ask all my guests what their relationship is like with risk and, as you can imagine, Michael’s answer is completely unique. His life experiences have given him an incredible perspective and his struggles have motivated him to be the helping hand someone else, who finds themselves at the thin end of opportunity and privilege, needs.I’m not going to lie, this conversation is INTENSE and deeply thought-provoking. Michael’s book Young Offender is available now.To join the Facebook group for the podcast click here >> The Emma Guns Show Forum. To follow me on social media >> Twitter | Instagram.Watch clips from the podcast >> Youtube | The Emma Guns Show

  • Julia Bradbury on finding balance, rejecting what doesn't serve you and tuning into what makes you happy.

    01:11:45
Julia Bradbury, the television presenter, author and ‘outdoor evangelist’ is here to explain exactly why time outdoors, connecting with your health and making better choices is worth the effort and, perhaps most importantly, the ‘how’ of building these habits into your life.In her book Walk Yourself Happy, Julia examines the elemental link between our health - both physical, mental and emotional - and the natural world. For Julia personally, it was a balm during her breast cancer treatment and IVF treatments.I distinctly remember having conversations with friends during the lockdowns and whenever we’d discuss going ‘back to normal’ we all expressed how we wanted things to return to normal but that we didn’t want to go back to how we were living before. In almost every conversation, what this referred to was not going back into normality at such a fast, relentless pace. If you’re looking at the floor then perhaps you, like me, have found yourself back at that breakneck speed and you want to figure out how to slow things down and, honestly listeners, I think Julia is the key to this, which is why I’m delighted to welcome her on the podcast. • From the Vault | Chloe Madeley on shunning the spotlight and banning comments sections.

    01:28:10
This episode was originally published in April 2023.It would be wildly inappropriate for me to have favourites when it comes to my podcast guests - I love them all! - but Chloe Madeley is what dream podcast guests are made of: self-aware, articulate and ready to tell their story. As ever, we start with risk, and how Chloe made the choice to step back from the world of media to pursue personal training after one weightlifting session, quite literally, changed her life, her mental and physical health. We discuss so much more from self-worth, being the target of the media glare, growing up with famous parents and why she believes so passionately that comments sections should be banned.Chloe’s books are available now and The EC Method is currently open for enrollment.
