Chatting with the Cast of 'In the Midst of Plenty'

Ep. 4

Part 1 of 2.

'In the Midst of Plenty' is a new folk musical set in 1847, at the height of Ireland's Great Famine.

It tells the story of Bridget Connor, a tenant on the Strokestown Estate in County Roscommon, as she struggles to protect her family from the looming threats of starvation, eviction and emigration. With book and music by singer-songwriter Amy Day and artistic direction by Anne-Marie O'Sullivan (of Enchanted Croí Theatre), the show sold out all its debut performances in 2022, receiving glowing reviews.

We visited the Strokestown Park Estate to chat to them while they rehearsed, in preparation for their Nationwide Tour, which starts May 25th.

Tune in next episode, when we get to sit down with Amy and Ann-Marie and hear the whole cast rehearse one of the original songs from the show.
