Episode 44: Income and Emotional Wellbeing
Get ready to join us on a deep dive into the connection between money and emotional wellbeing, especially for caretakers and entrepreneurs. We kick things off with our ritual “what’s in process, what’s in progress?” segment, digging into our experiences as caregivers and parents, the joys and challenges that come with it, especially when you’re juggling entrepreneurship. Bottom line: we’re not always getting (or giving ourselves) the support we need and it’s f*cking exhausting
We dive into fascinating research, highlighting how women are consistently underpaid and Anne shares why she's driven to change that narrative. Learn about eye-opening statistics and articles that shed light on this issue, making a compelling case for why financial empowerment is crucial for women's emotional and mental health. One particular study grabs our attention, exploring how much income it takes for a person to "feel" wellbeing, emphasizing that women often have to work even harder to ask for and achieve financial security.
We even have a little spoiler alert tossed into this episode, as we divulge how we’re creating a new suite of offers for our business, The Embodied Business Institute, called Profit for Wellbeing, that will increase our impact on helping women believe they can—and should—earn more.
And finally, we wrap things up by talking about how we suffer when either money or meaning are missing: if you experience unmet financial needs OR your work has lost or never had meaning and purpose, your wellbeing suffers and sometimes it feels impossible to correct course.
Tune in to get tips, insights, and inspirations on breaking this ugly cycle, and start asking “What is my relationship to making money, having meaning, and my emotional wellbeing?

47. Ep 47: Change Your Business or Company Culture with This ONE Strategic Move - Mental Health Monday’s, Baby!
39:06||Season 1, Ep. 47As we get closer to our 50th episode mark, we’re excited to share a pivotal development in our company’s journey: Mental Health Mondays. We’re talking about major internal culture shifts and what it requires. In this episode, we’ll unpack what Mental Health Mondays are, why we created them, and how they’ve become central to our team’s success. We’ll also dive into how this simple practice has transformed our business from the inside out.The landscape of our work and our lives is usually fast-paced and demanding, and it’s easy to get caught up in the constant cycle of doing without pausing to reflect. We’ve seen firsthand how taking time to focus on regulating ourselves has significantly reduced stress, improved communication, and increased creativity within our team. This practice has become a foundation for how we show up for one another and our clients – with greater empathy, patience, and presence.Mental Health Mondays are a natural fit for our Polyvagal-centered approach to business. Polyvagal Theory, which examines the inextricable link between our physiology and our psychology is one of our guiding philosophies, allows us to use the language of the nervous system to better understand not just how we’re feeling, acting, and thinking, but WHY. Through this lens we’re able to identify cues of safety and recognize triggers, creating an environment that supports both productivity and well-being.What does this look like? For us, it means understanding that each team member and each of our clients' experience is valid — no matter how fucked up, unfair, or difficult it might seem or be or feel — with their nervous system responses shaping how they perceive and react to challenges. Bottom line: creating a safe space for self-awareness and self-regulation to be a SKILL we honor and promote within our business… is a GAME-CHANGER! If you want to lay a strong foundation for better collaboration and innovation this is it. And the ripple effects are endless: more compassion and empathy; greater likelihood of creating positive behavior within the operational structures of your business; decision-making in times of uncertainty; creative problem solving under pressure and so much more.We hope this conversation inspires you to think about how intentional mental health practices and an understanding of the nervous system can lead to transformative shifts in any setting. Let’s keep exploring how we can build resilient, compassionate communities that empower each of us to thrive. How to reach us: We welcome your comments, questions, and feedback. Ep 46: Navigating Uncertainty & Finding Regulation in a Dysregulated World
39:28||Season 1, Ep. 46Wowza. This was quite a show! If you’re feeling like the world is a little overwhelming right now, know that you’re not alone. This episode encourages everyone to take a collective exhale, acknowledging that it's okay to feel uncertain and that there are ways to find calm in the chaos. Join us as we discuss practical tools and mindful approaches to help us all navigate the waves of uncertainty with more compassion for ourselves and those around us.We fall deep into the reality of our current states of regulation and dysregulation, and open up about our personal experiences of feeling dysregulated, reflecting on how our history has shaped our responses to today’s ongoing and cumulative chaos and complexity. From political instability and climate crises to the pervasive sense of personal unpredictability, we discuss how challenging it is for everyone to find grounding these days.We explore what it means to regulate ourselves and support each other in ways that feel safe, sustainable, and nurturing. We consider how co-regulation — the impact of our nervous system on other’s and vice versa — can be both beneficial and challenging when those around us are also experiencing uncertainty. This episode sheds light on the ways our collective anxiety and stress can affect us physically, especially when we aren’t aware of it on an intellectual level. How to reach us: We welcome your comments, questions, and feedback. Ep 45: The Founder’s Dilemma of Money + Meaning
33:26||Season 1, Ep. 45Welcome back, everyone! We’re diving into a rich conversation about embracing the changing seasons — both literally and within our business. As the cool breeze of fall begins to settle in, we’ve found ourselves reflecting on how we’ve grown. Fall, with all its cozy wonders, has a grounding and regulating effect on us, which mirrors the organizational shifts we’ve been focusing on.We’ve been leaning into this season of learning and development, allowing ourselves the grace to grow along with the changes, rather than resist them (although there’s been plenty of that, too!). As we prepare to kick off a new Nervous System Facilitation training cohort, we’re thrilled to share a new initiative we’ve implemented — Mental Health Mondays. This practice has had a profound impact on our team, helping us all cultivate mindfulness and greater awareness as we navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. In this episode, we’re sharing something called the Founder’s Dilemma: a common challenge faced by business owners — a moment of tension that forces tough decisions. We’re also outing our own Founder’s Dilemma, looking at how our priorities have evolved over the years and how we’re handling these changes both independently and as partners. And then there’s our individual journeys and how that shapes our decisions together. By prioritizing communication, being aware of our nervous systems, and making space for one another, we’ve been able to move through these challenges with greater ease. As we step into a new phase of our business, we’re excited to announce two distinct suites of offers: one focused on making money; one on creating meaning.Tune in as we continue to explore what it means to grow as founders and support each other through it all!How to reach us: We welcome your comments, questions, and feedback. Ep 43: Time to Make a Profit, Dammit!
58:29||Season 1, Ep. 43In our latest episode, we delve deep into the growth we've experienced both in our partnership and our business. As we’ve navigated the challenges and triumphs of working together, we’ve learned so much about what it takes to grow not just as business partners, but as individuals committed to the same vision. Our journey has been one of continuous learning, where communication, trust, and a shared commitment to excellence have been our guiding principles. One of the highlights of this episode is our conversation about a significant step in Anne's professional journey—a licensure in the Pricing Overhaul® Method. Anne shares her passion and commitment to shifting the all too often held belief by women that our work isn't as valuable as it really is. Well, since that's just pure bullsh*t, she's out to support women entrepreneurs in changing that in a big way. We talk about the emotional and psychological barriers that often prevent us from increasing our prices—things like fear of losing clients, imposter syndrome, and societal expectations. We’re going all in for helping women overcome these barriers, giving themselves the raise they deserve, and ensuring that their pricing reflects the true value they provide. And no show would be complete without a little nervous system insight. For the geeks out there, you'll love that we go a bit into how our nervous system plays a crucial role in how we approach business decisions, including pricing. We talk about the importance of pausing, reflecting, and stepping back when you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure. Get your NS online or else you're screwed. No tough decision can be made from a effed up nervous system…ha! And that's the truth. Together, we explore the intersection of business growth, personal development, and well-being, offering actionable insights and heartfelt advice for women who are ready to step into their power, elevate their pricing, and create a sustainable, profitable business. We hope this episode inspires you to take the next step in your journey, whether that’s reevaluating your prices, nurturing your partnerships, or simply pausing to appreciate how far you’ve come.42. Ep 42: Resilience and the Nervous System in Work + Life
53:06||Season 1, Ep. 42What is resiliency? In this episode, we dive deep into the concept of resilience—defined as the ability to adapt and thrive in the face of adversity. We share personal reflections on how we are navigating life's transitions, with a strong emphasis on the importance of making time for rest, restoration, and solitude. These moments of intentional downtime are not just about relaxation but are vital opportunities to rebuild and recharge, ensuring they can continue to face challenges with strength and grace. The conversation takes a thoughtful turn as we discuss various strategies for repairing and recovering after dysregulations. Both of us (Anne & Chantill) offer insights into what resilience looks like for them personally, acknowledging that it’s a highly individualized process. Anne, in particular, introduces the idea of "containers of safety"—both internal and external spaces that provide a sense of security and support. She explains how these containers can vary greatly, from physical environments to mental and emotional frameworks, and the crucial role they play in maintaining resilience.A key takeaway from this episode is the idea that the more we understand our nervous systems, the better equipped we are to sustain resilience. We also discuss how awareness of bodily signals, such as stress responses, can be a powerful tool in managing our reactions to stress and maintaining control in challenging situations. The episode also touches on the habits and practices of high performers, particularly how we strive to maintain resilience in our demanding lives. Also, exploring the significance of being attuned to the signals of distress—whether signals manifest as physical symptoms, emotional disturbances, or cognitive challenges—and how recognizing these signals early can prevent burnout and breakdown.Through honest reflections and practical strategies, we encourage listeners to be intentional about creating spaces for rest, to be mindful of their nervous systems, and to cultivate awareness as a means to navigate life's inevitable challenges with resilience and intentional grace. How to reach us: We welcome your comments, questions, and feedback.
