It is nearly time. The 2025 B&I Lions will step out onto the field on Friday night in Dublin before heading Down Under. Andy Farrell names his first team as Head Coach - what does it tell us about the way the 2025 Lions might play???

I cannot wait for the British and Irish Lions series. I am buzzing about the July Test matches around the world, not to mention the Rugby Championship which follows. But beofre all that a very special curtain raiser takes place in Cape Town with a first ever match on SA soil for the Barbarians. Can Peter O'Mahony, Conor Murray and Cian Healy bow out of the international stage with a big win? Can Sam Cane and Shannon Frizzell get some redemption from the World Cup Final? Tradition, history and grudges - that's a perfect rugby cocktail!

As weird as it feels that all of a sudden we are into the British & Irish Lions, after a matter of hours since the Premiership and URC finals, but here we are. Andy Farrell has the full squad together finally....well, mostly! But will he risk any of the lads involved at the weekend? Who will pull on the red jersey first for the 2025 Lions?

10 new faces in the latest England squad, with players from the Premiership final back in contention, and a bunch of them from Bath will have to cut their celebrations short to prepare for a game against a France XV this weekend...before Borthwick selects his final squad to tour Argentina next Monday.
