Who killed who? The confusing Australian true-crime case of the Gilham family murders
Geordie and Michelle deep dive a confusing Australian true-crime case: Gilham family murders. In 1993 in Woronora, Australia, Stephen and Helen Gilham were stabbed to death, their house was set on fire and their son Christopher was found dead downstairs from multiple stab wounds. Older son, Jeffrey Gilham, claimed he had been sleeping in a boatshed in the back yard before rushing to the house after hearing screams, telling police his brother Christopher confessed to killing their parents before setting their mother’s body on fire. Jeffrey admitted stabbing his brother in a rage and initially pleaded guilty to manslaughter, however, after a few plot twists, prosecutors eventually charged Jeffrey with the murder of his parents as well. But that's not the end of this true-crime story... Listen now to discover how Jeffrey was eventually released from prison and why his conviction was overturned.

14. Denise Huskins & Aaron Quinn: The real-life Gone Girl?
48:26||Season 7, Ep. 14Have you ever seen Gone Girl? This week, Geordie & Michelle look at a true-crime story of a home invasion that went pear-shaped...When a break-in in Vallejo, California, turned into a bizarre kidnapping case, Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn found themselves at the centre of a story that police — and the media — didn’t believe. What initially sounded like a real-life Gone Girl quickly spiraled into something far more disturbing: a case of disbelief, public shaming and a justice system that got it wrong. In this ep, we look at the early morning break-in to Denise’s sudden reappearance, and the shocking way authorities handled it all. Why did investigators dismiss Aaron’s account so quickly? How did Denise go from victim to suspect in the court of public opinion? What really happened behind the scenes as the truth slowly came out? And how could a narrative take hold before the facts were fully understood? 13. Deadly Peaks: Hiking horror shows, avalanches & the Khamar-Daban incident
57:22||Season 7, Ep. 13Geordie and Michelle head into the mountains this week with a series of high-altitude disasters — but what really happened out there? When when Michel Trudeau (son on Pierre and brother of Justin) organised a ski trip with a pal, no one expected him to be swept away by an avalanche. His body has never been recovered, leaving questions that still linger... Then there’s the recent tragedy in Patagonia, where a group of experienced hikers were caught in extreme conditions, turning an adventure of a lifetime into a hiking horror show. Michelle also looks at the case of Nicolas Vanderbilt, who set off on a hike with a buddy and was never seen again — no clear trail, no real answers. These tragedies all beg the question - who is really in charge? Man or nature? The pair also dig into the deeply disturbing Khamar Daban incident, where a group of young hikers in Siberia died in bizarre and terrifying circumstances. Did they really succumb to hypothermia? Or does the group's sudden panic, strange behaviour and rapid descent into chaos point to something more sinister hiding in the mountain ice? You decide! 9. The Serpent: The crimes of Charles Sobhraj
56:00||Season 7, Ep. 9On Eavesdroppin' comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at a smooth-talkin' serial killer NOT called The Snake...Ever heard of a serial killer so smooth he made everyone think he was a nice guy who was helping them? That’s Charles Sobhraj — part conman, part celebrity criminal and known as The Serpent. Born in Saigon in 1944, he spent the 1970s drifting along Asia’s hippie trail, targeting free-spirited Western backpackers. One minute he was a friendly gem dealer or a rescuer helping with lost passports, the next, his victims were dead — poisoned, drowned or even burned. He stole their identities, travelled on their passports and lived off their money, all while committing at least a dozen murders across Thailand, Nepal and India. When he was finally caught in 1976, Charles Sobhraj turned prison into his own 'hotel', bribing guards, giving interviews and even escaping by drugging everyone at his own jailhouse party. So where is he now? Is he still in prison? And why is the world obsessed with The Serpent?
