Labour suffered a huge defeat in the recent general election. Why was this? Partly because they simply refused to respect the Brexit vote despite repeatedly promising to do so. And partly because they (and others on the left more broadly) have a tendency to seek to depict any views they disagree with as beyond the pale, to have the people expressing those views no platformed, and so on. There is also the issue of Corbyn hanging around with some of the most unsavoury, bigoted characters on earth, and the hypocrisy of that.

  • 10. Interview with Dr Iona Italia | Subeditor of Areo Magazine, author, and host of the 'Two for Tea' podcast

    01:02:24||Ep. 10
    This week's guest is Dr Iona Italia. She is the subeditor of Areo Magazine, hosts the Two for Tea podcast, has published three books, worked as an academic for many years, and is generally just a very astute social and political commentator. We discuss everything from whether or not woke intersectional critical race theory is complete rubbish, to whether Joe Rogan is more influential than CNN.Please remember to give this a good rating and review if you liked it, that really helps people find the show (apparently).Along with all other episodes, this podcast is also available on youtube. • 9. Interview with Hossein Abedini, a leading figure in Iran's secular, democratic resistance movement

    15:28||Season 1, Ep. 9
    This week I met with Hossein Abedini, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran who has been exiled from his country, in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. We discussed the situation in Iran, failed assassination attempts aimed at killing Hossein, women's rights, the religious persecution of minorities and more. • 8. Laurence Fox, Question Time, and the cynical manipulation of language (short episode)

    06:14||Season 1, Ep. 8
    During his Question Time appearance, Laurence Fox, an actor, claimed that Britain is generally 'a tolerant place' (it is). As a result, he was called a 'white privileged male' by a 'professor of race and ethnicity', actors called for him to be banned from acting, unions denounced him as a 'disgrace', there was mass social media outrage...etc etc.But, he literally didn't say anything bigoted at all. On the whole, Britain is incredibly tolerant, a fact that a vast majority of immigrants to this country agree with. In this episode Max tries to determine how we've reached this strange point.Along with all other episodes, this podcast is also available on youtube. • 7. Why (and how) many 'progressives' are getting things wrong

    13:48||Season 1, Ep. 7
    A long time ago in galaxy far, far away I used to be the furthest left it's possible to be politically. I still think left wing thought has a lot to offer, but like vast swathes of the country and the western world I also find so much of progressive discourse (some of which has seeped into mainstream 'liberal' politics more broadly) very annoying, irrational, and worse. That's this week's topic. • 6. Why celebrity virtue-signalling is so unbearable

    10:19||Season 1, Ep. 6
    Ricky Gervais absolutely rinsing virtue-signalling Hollywood celebrities at the Golden Globes this week must be one of the most satisfying things that's ever happened. In this episode we look at the reasons why people are so fed up with preachy, attention seeking awards speeches by celebrities who are some of the most privileged people on the planet.SOCIAL MEDIA:Follow Max (the host) on twitter: @theposhgentFollow E2 Review on twitter: @E2ReviewDon't forget to give this a good rating and review if you liked it, that really helps new listeners discover the show.
  • 3. Are Corbyn and the Labour Party antisemitic?

    14:14||Season 1, Ep. 3
    Follow the show on twitter: @E2ReviewFollow me (Max Klinger) on twitter: @theposhgentThis episodes provides a summary of some of the main examples of UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn's (possibly) antisemitic behaviour, provides further context to accusations of antisemitism made against Corbyn and his party, and assesses the merit of these accusations. Please give the show a good rating and a review if you liked it). • 4. Response to the London Bridge Terror Attack (Short Episode)

    04:42||Season 1, Ep. 4
    A very quick episode in response to the disgusting terror attack in London this week. Parts of the media have simply refused to mention the words 'Islamism' or 'Jihadism' at all in relation to this attack. That amounts to shielding this murderous ideology from critique. I discuss this and reflect on the week's horrific events.
  • 2. Free Speech, the Overton Window, and Epstein.

    21:05||Season 1, Ep. 2
    In recent years there's been an attempt by some on the left to shift the parameters of 'acceptable' thought and discussion. Instead of disagreeing with speakers or the points they are making, there's an increasing tendency to try to prevent those speakers from being given a platform at all. To take one example, on university campuses, 'progressive' students have literally rioted, set things on fire, and physically assaulted other students and speakers on numerous occasions because the speaker or topic under discussion is deemed 'offensive', 'far right', 'extremist', etc, etc.  Why is this the case, does it amount to censorship, and what are the implications for free speech? We discuss these points in this episode.Also, did Epstein really kill himself? Hint - we have no idea.Please SUBSCRIBE, and GIVE US A GOOD REVIEW AND RATING if you liked the show!
