What the Flock is Going On - DTNS 3979

Season 7, Ep. 3979

Flock cameras are used for neighborhood surveillance and can detect people, animals, and bicycles, but are best at detecting cars, specifically their license plates. Motherboard obtained hundreds of emails from about 20 police departments in the US detailing the use of a program called TALON to look up information collected from Flock cameras. More than 500 police departments in more than 1,000 US cities have access. Flock claims it helps police solve 4 to 5 crimes per hour. Is this a dangerous trend or one we should welcome?
