What is Healthy Governance? #301

When your family business becomes bigger, a chance occurs in the organization. Usually it is called: Governance. Who has a voice in making decisions and who is accountable for those decisions? Ultimately, it is the 'Norms' of the organization that rule. And that may or may not be in the best interests of the organization. If the purpose is not clear, the Board has challenges. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there is a direct link between being a decisive leader and being a master of conflict. Bottom line: As a leader, if you cannot embrace healthy conflict you will have a hard time committing to your decisions. Great leaders are masters of conflict because they are willing to passionately disagree about the things they hold as most important.
