Dolen and the Stardust Gypsies

Dolen, who is aged between nine and thirteen, is fed up with Mum's perpetual diet of fish fingers and beans, and decides to do something about it.

Dolen, who is aged between nine and thirteen, has run away from home and Mum's awful cooking. On the way to nowhere in particular, he has met a strange old man, Jimbird Flyflower, who seems to have only one of everything, and who offers to take Dolen to the moon. As their journey continues, they meet some new friends along the way...

Dolen (who is aged somewhere between nine & thirteen), and the Gypsies, Jimbird Flyflower (a strange and knowledgeable old man who has only one arm, one leg, and one of everything else), Ivan the Terrible (the world's worst rock guitarist) and Billy "the telephone freak' Perkins have stolen a space rocket and set off for the moon. But there's a problem...

The Gypsies have stolen a space rocket from the Nation Association for Research and Scientific and Technological Investigation, with the intention of landing on the moon. They have narrowly missed a collision with the moon and their course has been deflected into outer space. Back on Earth, their progress is being studied with much interest!

Dolen, Ivan and Billy have fallen into a huge cavern beneath the moon's surface, where they are greeted by a frog-like creature who walks upright, is five hundred feet tall, and does not speak English.

Jimbird has persuaded Lobb-Mincing to join him in a joy-ride around the universe. Meanwhile, below the surface of Miranda, the King of The Big Green Things is giving his guests a tour of his cavern.

In the huge, fantastical cavern beneath the surface of Miranda, Dolen, Ivan and Billy have been exploring the King's amazing galleries. Jimbird joins them.

The Gypsies have escaped from the huge, magical cavern inhabited by the King of The Big Green Things and his subjects, beneath the surface of Miranda. They don't waste a minute in getting back to their two spaceships.
