Episode 215: Halloween Haunts at the Lead-Deadwood Hospital with Historian Nicole Shiffrar
Ep. 215
•
Monument Health Lead-Deadwood has cared for patients since 1897, making it the oldest hospital in South Dakota still in operation. Historian Nicole Shiffrar takes Mark through the original basement, the old crematorium, an abandoned surgical floor and the morgue with its creepy green tile. Back in the lobby they talk about the nuns who ran the hospital, the first iron lung in the state and famous Deadwood names who were once patients. It's a Halloween episode full of history and a few ghost stories.
