Dewing Grain Podcast
237 – Josh & Andrew – The Dewing Takeover
In the market report for the w/c Monday 29th May 2023 it’s nearly June which means time to begin preparing for harvest. Time to clear your stores out, quantify everything and start pushing that button.
In the farmchat, we take a trip down memory lane, understanding Andrew’s dreams of becoming a professional footballer which didn’t quite work out the way he had hoped, so instead he was redirected to trading which he loved, going on to forming Dewing Grain back in 2006. Inspired by his much-loved first role at Dalgety’s in Rackheath, he has been in the trade since 3rd July 1978 - Andrew remembers it like it was yesterday.
Josh moves on to questioning thoughts on technology and whether its progression over the last 30 years has helped or hindered the trading industry. Moving onto debating food standards and attitudes to food safety which the boys believe should be paramount, do you agree?
Andrew gets sentimental whilst sharing old stories from his early days in the business, tune in now you will not want to miss this one!
As always, thanks to our listeners, old and new, and remember to keep in touch by heading over to @dewinggrain on Twitter and Instagram. Alternatively, head over to our website on www.dewinggrain.co.uk.
