• Independent artists, songwriters, and producers filed a lawsuit against Google, alleging the company used YouTube content to train its Lyria 3 AI music model without licensing the music. Plaintiffs claim Google extracted audio elements from videos and that the AI’s outputs are costing human creators sync licensing opportunities.
• Tommy DeCarlo, lead vocalist of Boston since 2007, has died at 60 after battling brain cancer. Discovered on MySpace, he later recorded lead vocals on the band’s 2013 album “Life Love & Hope.”
• A rare 1981 Danzig 7-inch single, “Who Killed Marilyn?”, sold for $10,000 on Discogs. The record was sold by its original owner, who said it was given to him directly by Glenn Danzig in 1983.
