Vuelta Feminina! Giro! Lincoln Grand Prix! It's all happening at once, but that's no problem for our dynamic trio who just talk about other stuff anyway. Belgian toothpaste, for example, which may possibly give you a very different ring of confidence. Join Chris, David and Gary for nutrition and hygiene tips with some occasional bike racing thrown in for good measure.
đ¸ The Lincoln Grand Prix is one of the UKâs most prestigious domestic races and the one with the longest continuous history. First raced in 1956, only the global COVID outbreak in 2020 has prevented its running. Pictured here, Huddersfield CCâs Bob Eastwood narrowly edges out Tony Hewson to take the inaugural victory. 1. Cycling Family Trees Episode 1 - Peugeot
29:25||Season 1, Ep. 1Every cycling team has a story. In this series, weâll dig into the teams that made cycling what it is: the dynasties, the cult squads, the superteams, the survivors, and the vanished names that still echo through the peloton today. Weâll look at where they came from, who built them, what they won, what they changed â and what grew from them after the final finish lineIn this first episode, Gary Fairley explores the extraordinary history of the Peugeot cycling team - one of the most influential and successful teams the sport has ever known. From the earliest Tours de France to the modern peloton, Peugeot helped shape professional cycling through legendary riders including Eddy Merckx, Tom Simpson and Bernard ThĂŠvenet. Gary follows the teamâs evolution through the Roger Legeay years, from Z and GAN to CrĂŠdit Agricole, tracing a remarkable lineage that lasted more than a century.A story of innovation, champions, iconic jerseys and lasting legacy - this is the family tree of Peugeot.đľ Hampus Naeselius, courtesy of Epidemic Sound.Cycling Legends - The untold story, the unseen photos Web https://www.cyclinglegends.co.ukInstagram https://www.instagram.com/cyclinglegendsmedia?igsh=MW9ldTNhemF6aWVlcA==Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CyclingLegendsMedia?X/Twitter @cyclinglegends1Email cyclinglegendspodcast@gmail.com

59:27||Season 5, Ep. 12When is a race not a race? When the GC lead decides he doesnât fancy it? Garyâs apathy towards the current Maglia Rosa might be taking a turn for the worse, but how does the sport balance spectacle and safety? Still, over the Mediterranean in Burgos, the Womenâs World Tour continues to serve up Actual Racing and new winners and it all bodes well for the Giro dâItalia Women which rolls out next weekend. The team look ahead to this, a sprinter-unfriendly final week of the menâs Giro and also take delight in the SRAM v UCI legal case being settled in favour of the kids rather than the man.đ¸ The greatest winning margin in Giro d'Italia history occurred in the 1914 edition, when Italian Alfonso Calzolari (pictured) defeated his compatriot Pierino Albini by 1 hour, 55 minutes, and 26 seconds. Of course, given that the average length of each of that editionâs 8 stages was almost 400km, then perhaps such a time gap is surprising but not shocking. Tadej Pogacarâs 9:56 margin over Dani Martinez in 2024 remains the greatest margin in more recent times, although that is still closer than Vittorio Adorniâs 11:26 over Italo Zilioli in 1965 or the 1954 battle between Swiss riders Hugo Koblet and Carlo Clerici which saw Koblet trail home over 24 minutes behind his victorious compatriot . 01:07:05||Season 5, Ep. 11The Giro dâItalia is safely (ish) back on home turf so the team take stock of the first week and a bit of the yearâs first Grand Tour. Predictably, Jonasâ Blockhaus blockbuster donât impress Gary much (his time trial even less so) but is it just a matter of time before the Danish Dynamo (cough) chalks up a debut Maglia Rosa? Elsewhere in racing, is it mere coincidence that the subject of the last episodeâs biggying-up, Mischa Bredewold took her first GC win at Itzulia? Of course it is, but that doesnât stop Chris, David and Gary pushing themselves as the natural successors to Cyrille Guimard.đ¸ Two giants making their Giro dâItalia debuts: on his way to the first of no fewer than 64 Grand Tour stage wins, Eddy Merckx conquers the Blockhaus on stage 12 of the 1967 race. This year saw the 70th edition of the menâs race and the 11th running of the womenâs event. 01:00:53|So Spring is over then. After 8 weeks of breathless single-day race action, itâs almost time to knuckle down for the long-haul of the first Grand Tour of the season, but the Classics have given us a tantalising glimpse of what we might expect should the stars align in July and beyond. Join Chris, David and Gary to look back at a Spring to remember.đ¸ While the menâs Liege-Bastogne-Liege first took place in 1892, it only took another 125 years before the inaugural womenâs race was held. Anna van der Breggenâs victory in 2017 saw her make history, completing an unprecedented Ardennes treble after taking Amstel Gold and La Flèche Wallone in the preceding week.
