Vuelta Feminina! Giro! Lincoln Grand Prix! It's all happening at once, but that's no problem for our dynamic trio who just talk about other stuff anyway. Belgian toothpaste, for example, which may possibly give you a very different ring of confidence. Join Chris, David and Gary for nutrition and hygiene tips with some occasional bike racing thrown in for good measure.
đ¸ The Lincoln Grand Prix is one of the UKâs most prestigious domestic races and the one with the longest continuous history. First raced in 1956, only the global COVID outbreak in 2020 has prevented its running. Pictured here, Huddersfield CCâs Bob Eastwood narrowly edges out Tony Hewson to take the inaugural victory. 01:00:53|So Spring is over then. After 8 weeks of breathless single-day race action, itâs almost time to knuckle down for the long-haul of the first Grand Tour of the season, but the Classics have given us a tantalising glimpse of what we might expect should the stars align in July and beyond. Join Chris, David and Gary to look back at a Spring to remember.đ¸ While the menâs Liege-Bastogne-Liege first took place in 1892, it only took another 125 years before the inaugural womenâs race was held. Anna van der Breggenâs victory in 2017 saw her make history, completing an unprecedented Ardennes treble after taking Amstel Gold and La Flèche Wallone in the preceding week. You donât get this over at Lionel Birnieâs, do you?đ¸ The Lion of Flanders himself, Johan Museeuw, taking the first of his 3 Ronde Van Vlaanderen victories at the 1993 edition of the race. 01:17:52||Season 5, Ep. 6Mama Mia! Milan-San Remo has not disappointed, from Pogiâs Poggio power to Cipressa carnage to a whole lotta Lotte doubters made schtum and all of it leaving us almost equally so. This is hardly ideal considering thereâs an hour of podcast time to kill so we talk about some other stuff too. What did we learn from Tirreno and Paris-Nice? No bull with Isaac Del Toro, thatâs for sure (oh, come on, everyone else has used it) but Visma-Lease-a-Bike seemingly have no shortage of moaning as well as a future title sponsor. We look ahead to more Flanders racing and also discover that Calalunya could be a bigger deal than we at first thought this season. All this plus culturally-insensitive climbs and news from Simpson-Nouvellesâ 2026 home debut at the ANEXO/CAMS Cicle Classic.đ¸ Before the introduction of the Poggio in 1960 and the Cipressa in 1982, the Passo del Turchino was considered the decisive point of Milan-San Remo rather than the gateway to the Ligurian coast, where the modern race truly begins. The photo shows riders cresting del Passo during the 1922 edition, a race won by Giovanni Brunero, the first of his 3 victories in La Classicissima di primavera.(Credit: Fondazione Pirelli.)RecommendationsIâve Had a Rose Letâs Talk About Feelings with Sam Lake https://shows.acast.com/ive-had-a-rose-lets-talk-about-feelings-with-sam-lakeWith a Little Help from my Friends - A Tribute to Matt Long https://mattlongtributealbum.bigcartel.comSimpson Nouvelles Cycling Scholarship - https://gofund.me/32eacc351 Get in touchDrop us a line at cyclinglegendspodcast@gmail.com!
