Ep. 16

Episode 16 sees us talking to MEERA, DJ and radio presenter, event founder and curator.  Known for high-energy sets that fuse bass-heavy grooves, deep, tech, percussive house, disco and garage - always delivered with a deep and instinctive connection to the rave.

 

A resident on Select Radio and Pure FM, MEERA has also played across some of London’s most respected venues including Ministry of Sound, The Cross, Stereo, Sushi Samba, The Social, and MOT, earning a reputation for dynamic, high-impact sets. In 2025, she made her international debut, playing UNVRS Ibiza and Amsterdam Dance Event, marking a major milestone in her DJ journey.

    In episode 15 we are talk to DJ SHORTY, whose career started with pirate radio on ForceFM, and DejaVuFM, before moving onto KaneFM, BBC6, 1Xtra, and ItchFM. A versatile DJ, he’s known for his old-school, hip-hop style as well as underground through to more commercial, and he’s also comfortable bringing rap, R&B, funk and soul into his sets,. He’s also collaborated with numerous live acts and bands over the years, and headlined sets at events including Glastonbury and the London Jazz Festival. Currently he is one of the resident DJs at the world-famous Chip Shop in Brixton, he also serves as a lecturer at Pointblank Music School, teaching DJ skills as a degree module.     In this episode we talk to Will Kayll, who is influenced by 80s music and the original sound from the The Summer of Love.     In this episode we're joined by DJ Ben the Bee (Ben Taylor), who started DJ‐ing in the late 80‘s, at the birth of dance culture, and the emergence of the world music scene. He’s played at clubs, parties and festivals worldwide including Kimberley, GIVE!, Wilderness, Harvest, Desert Heart, Womad, Glastonbury, Burning Man, Mucky Weekender and Bestival, as well as many gigs overseas including in Ibiza, across Africa and Southeast Asia. Ben is also the artistic director of events production company House of Honey, which creates intimate events and boutique festivals like GIVE!
