Unlike the elaborate message to the Athenians, Paul’s message to Corinth was simple—Jesus is the Messiah. And Paul’s experience in Corinth shows us that this simple, yet profound message will continue to go forth, despite all circumstances.

In Thessalonica and Berea, we can see that the Gospel flourishes in not in comfort, but often in conflict; we are meant to engage people where they’re at; and we are to invite people into the wonder of holy curiosity that pushes us into exploring more of the God who saves. 

Although Paul gets the glory for “going first” into Europe, for paying attention to his surroundings and culture, and following through on the prompts of the Holy Spirit, the truth is, that in every place Paul was met and joined by others.
