Episode 427: Criminals turned debt-collectors Martin 'The Viper' Foley and Jonathan Gill
•
CAB target Jonathan Gill and veteran criminal Martin ‘The Viper’ Foley have been photographed together on a debt collection mission which throws into the spotlight the lack of regulation in Ireland around the industry.
The duo, who are well known to Gardai, were snapped together at a location in midlands where they had called to a property and where officers are now investigating allegations of intimidation.
So how can a convicted criminal and a man described in court as one of the country’s top ten criminals operate as private money men and what laws need to be brought in to prevent them from calling to anyone’s door?
Nicola speaks with Niall Donald about the Viper and his sidekick and the concerns around their activities.
