The daughter of prominent publican Charlie Chawke has been released weeks after being jailed for a serious assault because of overcrowding at Limerick prison.Alison Chawke was jailed alongside her brother Bill for assaulting John McHugh and Gerard Cox at the Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adare, Co Limerick, on November 9, 2023 in a row over food.However, she has been released under a community return scheme as the prison is running at 159pc capacity in the women’s section.Nicola speaks to Niall Donald.
