He was an unknown when he was picked up by gardaí with a large heroin consignment back in 2001, but in the past two decades Brian Grendon has really been placed on the gangland map.

The head of the group known as 'The Family' is now facing sentence on tax offences and a file is currently with the Director of Public Prosecutions for consideration of serious gangland charges.

Today, Nicola and Niall are talking about Grendon and his rise to fame.
