Episode 1269: Barbie Kardashian brutally attacked on Dublin street weeks after release
Newly released prisoner Barbie Kardashian has made the headlines since being freed from Limerick jail and was last week attacked on a Dublin street and videoed as she cowered from her assailant.
While Barbie courts publicity and appears vulnerable and frail, she also has a darker side and has been diagnosed with multiple personality disorders, narcissism, and psychiatrists say she is at risk of carrying out violent sexual threats she regularly makes about his parents and staff in the care facilities where she has been housed since aged 9.
So, what can the State do to protect a person like Kardashian from herself and what can they do to protect the public for her? Also, what is the media's role in her case?
Nicola is joined by Pat O’Connell, who has interviewed Kardashian, who brings us inside the complexities of the care and rehabilitation of one of Ireland’s most difficult criminals.
