4.5 - Blood and Dust

Ep. 4.5

Recorded April 17, 2021. Blood and Dust is a Montreal based duo inspired by horror cinema and occultism. Part horror drone, part spookfolk, part post-rock, they blend synth and cello into nightmarish auditory rituals. They contributed the untitled centrepiece to episode four.

This episode features samples from their album "Rights of Blood and Dust", available on Blood and Dust's bandcamp. Lis' solo project, Principe d'incertitude, is available on soundcloud.

Other tracks featured in the background include:

"Litany for the Hopeless" and "The Void, Transmuted" by Blood and Dust

"Retroactive Rock Record" and "Broken Tone" by Output 1:1:1

A busted sample of You by Bad Religion

A mangled edit of Blackstar by David Bowie

  • Cold Waves of Comfort - Trailer

    00:54
Cold Waves of Comfort was the name of an album I've been working on for the past 3 or 4 years. Episodes will be released two at a time. The first will be entirely music. Those music episodes will build into a song from that unreleased album. The second episode will be a loosely released conversation. The first one is called Remote.

  • 3.5. 3.5 - Carmen

    32:47
Recorded April 1, 2021. Carmen is the co-host of Toronto-based social-justice podcast I'd Kill a Spider for You (@idkillaspider4u). In this episode, Carmen touches on Coffeeshop Communists, her perspective on music as it relates to politics, and politely describes how creeped-out she was by the Lunar Rhythm episode. Danny confuses Craven for Carpenter and blatantly side-steps a question about politics by talking about musicals. "Nerdy. Political. Intersectional. Hilarious. Two BIPOC Best Friends figuring life out and talking everything under the sun. Join us on our journey through history, pop culture, self acceptance and everything else."
