Remembering Bill Melton & Minnie Miñoso

Bill Melton, former White Sox home run leader and analyst, passed away at 79. He hit 30+ HR in 70 & 71, earning AL home run crown in 71. Melton held franchise record for career HR from 74 to 87, amassing 154 HR & 535 RBI. In 77, White Sox traded Brian Downing & 2 pitchers for Bobby Bonds & 2 prospects, one of whom, Richard Dotson, became a valuable asset. Minnie Miñoso, a six-time All-Star & two-time Gold Glove winner, was finally inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021, breaking the color barrier for the White Sox in 1951.
