Chicago experiences violent weekend: Multiple shootings leave one dead, seven injured

The Aqsa School, the first all-girls Muslim school in the US, celebrates its fortieth anniversary in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Founded by Mahomoud Ismail, a Palestinian immigrant, the school was inspired by his mothers belief in education. His daughters, Tammie and Nadia, were among the first students. Today, the school serves 350 students, offering elementary education for both boys and girls, and an all-girls program from sixth to twelfth grade. Graduates have excelled in various fields. Tammie and Nadia, now principal and college counselor, continue their familys legacy. The school emphasizes academic excellence, strong character, and community involvement, with plans to establish a college.

65-year-old Lawrence Boyle convicted of first-degree murder in the death of his 30-year-old romantic partner, Sierra Jamison, in September 2023. Boyles presence at the scene, as witnessed by Jamisons brother, and his premeditated act inside the garage led to the conviction. Boyle will be sentenced on January 5th.

Chicago Man Faces Serious Charges for School Break-In: Deon McLaughlin, already out on pre-trial release for violent crimes, is accused of breaking into Downers Grove North High School, forcing an employee to search for money. Charged with burglary, attempted robbery, and aggravated battery, McLaughlin is detained pending trial.
