The Chemical Radio Podcast Mix 8 - DJ Karim

Season 1, Ep. 9
In this episode we're turning up the BPM and taking a journey through a genre of music which became a sort of harder extension of Hard House in the mid to late 90's. A sound pioneered by labels like Tinrib Recordings and championed by a DJ who is the subject of todays podcast. And that is the man behind DO NOT BEND RECORDINGS - none other than the legendary KARIM.I first met Karim in 1995 when I was extending my personal weekend clubbing to Sunday nights and during that I discovered an amazing after hours club in the heart of Clerkenwell in London. The club was called Warriors and the music was similar to Hard House but altogether harder, darker and more progressive. Karim played a headline set at Warriors on the main floor and I grew to love his unique style of what became known as Hard NRG. Alongside DJs such as RR FIERCE, DAVE RANDALL and EJ DOUBELL, Karim blasted out his fierce sound on the decks at Warriors every Sunday night into Monday morning to a wonderfully appreciative and up for it crowd - even if many had to go to work in just a few hours time!So ladies and gents I would say sit back but I don't think you'll be able to sit still listening to this great mix. Batten down the hatches and - Enjoy This Trip! Please subscribe to this podcast if you're enjoying the music!
