Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #1114
Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Martin Wickham to look back at the win against Leeds in the FA Cup and ahead to Brentford v Chelsea on Saturday.
In part one we look back at the FA Cup win against Leeds. A great last gasp win and winning against hated rivals is what it’s all about but…was it really a shocking performance? Chelsea are confusing for any fan at the moment - on occasion the most brainless Chelsea team we’ve ever seen with unforced errors, poor touch and passing and conceding criminal goals, but capable of the three great goals they scored. Mudryk at 10 was interesting to see; Sterling on the other hand looks like he doesn't want to be there. Thankfully Conor Gallagher came to the rescue in the last few minutes with a cracking goal to send Chelsea to the quarter finals against Leicester.
In part two, we welcome back Greville Waterman, Brentford author, for The Opposition View. We ask Greville where has it all gone wrong for Brentford this season - 13 defeats in the last 17 matches - is it simply injuries? With Brentford 5 points from the relegation zone is there pressure on Frank? Brentford unbeaten in last 4 v Chelsea and have kept clean sheet in last 3 - do they have a hoodoo against us? What difference does Toney make - is he off in the summer - where to? How will the match go and what is Greville's prediction.
In part three we preview Brentford v Chelsea with JK's presser summary and Chidge’s team selection. Is it time to give one of Enzo, Moises and Conor a rest? What do we do about Sterling? Our poor recent record v Brentford needs to change, and they have their 1st choice back 5 out and awful recent form so surely Chelsea can put a decent win and performance together? We wrap up discussing how the match will go and what is our prediction.
