Chelsea FanCast Preview Show #1109
Stamford Chidge & Jonathan Kydd are joined by Tony Glover and Alex Churchill to look ahead to Saturday's match against Man City.
In part one we have a special preview of the 'Chelsea FanCast WW1 Battlefield Tour' organised and hosted by Alex Churchill, a WW1 historian and author in her day job. Originally and successfully held in 2019, Alex (Chelsea FanCast), Jonny Dyer (Podding Shed) and Andrew Holmes took a group of Chelsea fans to the Western Front to learn about the battles of the Sommes and Ypres. Five years later we are returning under the Chelsea FanCast banner.
Renowned historians and passionate Chelsea fans, Alex Churchill, Jonny Dyer & Andrew Holmes will conduct a WW1 battlefield tour following the stories of Chelsea players and supporters and the tour follows the stories written in their book "Over Land and Sea". Chidge and Tony Glover will be joining them and with Alex, discuss on the show, the emotional trip to notable WW1 cemetaries, learning about WW1 and family members who fought and died there and then after a hard days history, winding down over decent food, Belgian beer and great commraderie!
The tour will take place between June 21st and June 24th this year and if you want to join us follow the link for full details to reserve your place with a deposit:

In part two we welcome back David Walker from Read But Never Red for teh Opposition View. We ask David what he thought of the 4:4 in November? Is he surprised by how well Palmer has done and does he have any regrets? With Haaland & De Bruyne back is it full steam ahead for a treble? Is he worried about FFP infractions, points deduction, relegations? Are there any weaknesses Chelsea can exploit? And how does he see the match going?
In part three we preview Man City v Chelsea. We kick off with JK’s Presser Summary - JK watches the presser so we don't have to! Chidge gives his team selection. Will Sanchez return? Wil Sterling start? Will Poch stick with 4:2:3:1? Will Casadei get some minutes?
Will the real Chelsea stand up ir are we still a Jeckyll & Hyde side? Will Chelsea be brave – should they be? Should the 4:4 give us hope? The recent stats are very much against us. We discuss how we see it going and wrap up with 'They Played for Both'.
