It’s Friday, so obviously it’s time to delve into the Chatabix mailbag again. Joe’s starting writing a list of things to talk about on the pod and in this episode, he’s want to see if they spark any interest with David. Subjects include watching a man dig a grave, covers bands, Joe’s stolen beach shoes, watching trucks queuing outside a Travis Perkins, hugging too much, losing your temper and loving camaraderie. On today’s show, David tells Joe about a suspicious ‘cold-call’ gardener he’s just been speaking with, they both recount tales of rouge traders they’ve used in the past and David attempts some online investigations. Then, as Joe’s been staying in Bristol for the past few days where he went to art college in his early 20s, he really noticed the different way he experienced the city as a 51 year old. So you can expect lots of introspection about getting old - and some chat about window cleaning too. David’s just had a magical day at the Trent Bridge Test Match in Nottingham, made even more special as he and his family met Ben Stokes outside the grounds beforehand. Little did they know that later that day Ben would be announcing his retirement from international cricket. So it was a big day for all concerned - and David wants to tell Joe everything about it. They also discuss direct messages, getting autographs, the wonderful Andy Zaltzman and if they could ever blag a job as a sports commentator.
