During the investigation into the first incident, Simmons made continuous threats against the victim, leading to an intimidation charge. She was also found in possession of a firearm. The second incident occurred at a local restaurant, California Dreaming, where Simmons became upset with a manager in the kitchen. The manager had planned to send her and other staff home due to slow business that evening. As the argument escalated, Simmons pulled a gun from her waistband, shot the victim, and then fled the scene. She was later taken into custody and has remained in jail since. This case underscores the severe consequences of gun violence and domestic disputes, with the 28-year sentence reflecting the gravity of the crimes committed and the impact on the victims involved.

Two individuals, Jermaine Sammy Milligan and Deangelo Montez Simmons, face charges following a multi-week investigation by the Charleston Police Department.
