Mary McAleese

On 11th November, 1997, Mary McAleese was inaugurated as the eighth President of Ireland. Mary McAleese was re-elected on Friday 1st October 2004 for a second term. She is a barrister and former Professor of Law. President McAleese is an experienced broadcaster, having worked as a current affairs journalist and presenter in radio and television with Radio Telefís Éireann. She has a longstanding interest in many issues concerned with justice, equality, social inclusion, anti-sectarianism and reconciliation. The theme of her Presidency was ‘Building Bridges’

Mary Kennedy

Mary Kennedy is an Irish television personality and former newscaster & writer. She presented the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 from the Point Theatre in Dublin. She has also presented her own Saturday night chat show called Kennedy. Mary was co-presenter of the magazine programme Open House with Marty Whelan. She previously presented Up for the Match and the People of the Year Awards. She was co-presenter of the hugely popular Nationwide with Anne Cassin until 2019, having been so for a time with Michael Ryan. Mary currently presents “Moving West” for TG4 which is also produced at Dundara.
