#celticfc #celticsoul #podcast
US based Dublin publican Johnny Vaughan joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne for a catch up on all things Celtic, the League of Ireland and to get his take on the World Cup Stateside.
Johnny arrived in the States on a Soccer Scholarship during the 1990 World Cup in Italy. He followed Ireland during the 1994 World Cup which was also held in the US.
He has a contact in the Ghana camp his pal and fellow Irish man Mick McDermot who also went through the Soccer system in the States and is now part of Carlos Queiroz coaching staff.
The lads chat about Martin O’Neill , the dramatic end to the season and the failure in the Celtic board room and their continued contempt for the Celtic support.
They look back at Tommy Burns Celtic team and the brand of football those Celtic players played and they also look back at European away days together in Munich, Madrid and Philadelphia.
Johnny was a regular contributor to the letters pages in the early issues of More than 90 Minutes and he is emotionally connected to Celtic like so many Celtic fans who live on the other side of the World who travel from the US and beyond to attend games.
The lads go back down memory lane and look back at Ireland’s past World Cup journeys and the Irish players who lined out for Jack Charlton in those tournaments in Italy and the US back in the 1990’s.

201. Kasper Høgh Playing Style, Strengths & What he will bring to Celtic
30:23||Ep. 201#celticfc #celticsoul #podcastFollow Vicenç Clos Balcells on Instagram & Twitter @vclosbfutopinionsBarcelona based journalist Vicenç Clos Balcells joins More than 90 Minutes Editor to chat about the arrival of Kasper Høgh’s to Celtic after his transfer from Bodø/Glimt.Vicenç has followed Høgh’s development as a striker, he talks about the reasons why Celtic have decided to invest so heavily in him. He provides listeners with an in-depth understanding of his playing style, his strengths, and whether he has what it takes to succeed in Scottish football. He believes he is one of the most effective penalty-box strikers to emerge from Scandinavian football in recent years. While he is not a forward who dominates matches through his involvement in build-up play, he is exceptionally opportunistic in front of goal. His greatest strength is his instinct inside the penalty area, although he also possesses a strong ability to play with his back to goal and bring teammates into the game. They chat about his outstanding performances in European competitions. Høgh proved that he can deliver against top-level opposition, not only in the UEFA Champions League but especially in the UEFA Europa League, where he finished as the competition's top scorer. Those performances were a major factor in attracting interest from clubs across Europe and ultimately convincing Celtic to make such a significant financial investment.Vicenç talks about transfers into a broader context by analysing how players leaving Bodø/Glimt have performed elsewhere. Footballers such as Patrick Berg at Lens or Jens Petter Hauge during his spell at AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt and KAA Gent. They have experienced mixed fortunes after leaving Norway. He believes this is a particularly relevant angle given the sizeable fee Celtic have paid for Høgh, as it raises the question of whether he can become the exception and successfully replicate his Bodø/Glimt form at a bigger club. Please Subscribe to our independent Celtic Fan YouTube ChannelCeltic Fanzine TV / celticfanzinetv– Hit the Alarm so you never miss an episode, Leave a Commentand Please share. The Podcast is available on Audio across all platforms includingSpotify & Apple. 200. This is Celtic / More than a Football Club
01:10:45||Ep. 200#celticfc #celticsoul #podcastDublin Celtic Fan, Thomas Moran joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne to talk all things Celtic and about his recent fundraiser for LauraLynn. Celtic fans came together to thank LauraLynn Ireland’s Children’s Hospice for the care they gave to his daughter Penny before she sadly passed away. Thomas opened up on his mental health after the loss of Penny and the impact of the counselling provided by the charity to him and how a bus and boat to Glasgow and Celtic Park has had such a positive effect on his mental well being. The Bhoys also chat about the state of play over the summer months at Celtic as they wait to get back to Glasgow when the competitive season kicks off on Monday 03 August. Thomas was in Tolka Park for the Celtic v Shelbourne game recently and praised Celtic for visiting a Woman’s refuge in Dublin which is supported by the Celtic FC Foundation and Crumlin Children’s Hospital during their time in the Irish capital. With so many things right at Celtic how has Dermot Desmond and those he has running the club got it so wrong? Former Celtic Captain, Paul Lambert has now echoed the views of the Celtic support. The club needs to shake up and modernise which is what the club’s fan base want and deserve. Under Dermot Desmond’s micro management style modernisation of OUR club will not happen. The bhoys also go down memory lane to past visits to Dublin to see Celtic over the years and the special memories that spring back to mind when Celtic have come over to Ireland. 199. Celtic Fans are getting Restless : Bring on the Summer Signings
01:11:17||Ep. 199#celticfc #celticsoul #podcastGlasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 Minutes Editor, Andrew Milne for their weekly chat about all things Celtic. The Bhoys look ahead to the Celtic v Middlesborough game. 9000 visiting away fans are expected but there are questions over how many Celtic fans will turn up as frustration grows with the lack of activity in the transfer window with Flag Day and a Champions League qualifier only around the corner with some decent teams waiting. They also chat about the pre-season games in Dublin and Faro and the two players who have signed Duran and the Ox who looks like he enjoyed his summer off the pitch. Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson met along with Brian Wilson and Martin O’Neill with members of the AICSC recently at their AGM and did not cover himself in glory with his answer to why we have not signed players blaming others for his failings. The situation with Saracchi sums up those failings. Music is always up for discussion and this weeks Michael chats about his visit to Doof in the Park dance event hosted by Hannah Lang. Michael’s mate DJ & Producer David Forbes was on the bill which leads the bhoys to DJ tales from London and Ibiza where so many young DJ’s cut their teeth. The lads look back at the World Cup semi-final and preview the final from the comfort of their armchairs. Memory lane takes Michael to London for a game v Arsenal in Highbury when Police only expected a couple of thousand Celtic fans but 14,000 fans turned up for a testimonial with half of the support only getting in at half time. We now only get 19 SPFL games for an increased price which is another bone of contention with the bhoys.
