Celtic Soul Podcast Episode 49 with More than 90 Minutes, Editor Andrew Milne chatting to David Low. David has forged a very successful career in finance, is the current Chair of the Celtic Trust and he played his part in the takeover of Celtic back in 1994.

Plenty to chat about, the current situation at Celtic on and off the pitch, Finance in Football and how the current pandemic will affect Celtic and the Scottish game, Why he joined the Celtic Trust and the benefits of becoming a member and how fans can have real voice within our club, Dermot Desmond, Money, the current board, its members, it’s structure and how it operates, Shareholders, Fergus McCann and his own role in the 1994 takeover, The new stadium and stopping the 10, the change of power at Celtic and where the McCann shares went, Leaving Celtic in 2001, Third Lanark, Following Celtic as a kid in the sixties and a lot more.

Episode 49 is dedicated to the memory of John Wilkes who passed away suddenly in December. John was passionate about football, family and friends.

Cherry Orchard, Shamrock Rovers, Celtic, the Irish National team and Leicester City were his teams and he followed them home and away over many years. He got to see Rovers winning the league and Celtic doing the Quadruple Treble before his sad passing.

John was a great supporter of the fanzine over the years and would buy 10 copies to give to his customers free in his taxi. He loved a midweek trip and was a regular on European adventures with his close mates in St. Margaret’s CSC and he was no stranger on a cold wet winter night to the likes of Dundee or Cardiff.

With Covid19 restrictions and the numbers limited to attend his funeral, Hoops fans lined the street outside the church to say farewell to a great football man.

Rest Easy John, Forever in Our Hearts
