CatSounds with Brian Macaulay
#12: She’s All Cat
•
This week we take a deep dive into Miramax's recent announcement that they're preparing a–sigh–remake of 1999's She's All That.
Then a general rant about movies and why you should expect them to get even worse than they are now.

18: MadCat Adventures in Journalism and Alcoholism
45:12|This week we'll cover all of best topics: mental asylums, dating, race, alcoholism, and much more. As usual it's mostly about me, but we really dig deep into this week's (latest) race controversy from the The New York Times. 17 Depictions of Grooming
01:11|Around the turn of the century, TV achieved an unprecedented greatness with shows like The Sopranos. But in recent years, these prestige television offerings have really begun to falter, so we go on for a while with a fairly academic discussion of these issues and then BAM! It's a hard and fast review of FX's A Teacher, a definitely too problematic and romantic and romantaproblematic teacher/student coital cable drama starring (va va voom) Kate Mara—but get your mind out of the gutter, perv! Shape up and eat the shame sandwich and learn THE DANGER OF GROOMING if you want to live in a society. I've got complaints about the show, yeah, but also complaints about everyone complaining about the show. It'll be a good long list of who needs to shut up, which is not me—my views are correct and I should keep talking. 16: Some Cats Just Want to Watch the World Burn
59:36|This week, buckle up. We're going to talk about WarnerMedia's big HBOMax play, Christopher Nolan, Wonder Woman 1984, the shockwave cascading through the film industry now, and yeah, we saved some time at the end to cover how much your incompetent leaders in Washington have failed you during a national crisis. FIXED(again)—15: A Tiger, by the Tale
47:51|This week, we take a deep dive into my objections about recently-deposed New Yorker staff writer Jeffrey Toobin, and why I no longer watch CNN. It's not our best episode, but we do also explore the career of Law Professor Alan Dershowitz and it almost gets interesting but then stops short of that mark. Special: Race update for non-political-junkies
36:25|On tonight's installment of the CatSounds podcast, I'll breakdown what I expect, what I see as unlikely, and what I expect in the long term. If you don't want to stay glued to the TV but want 35 minutes of me talking about who's about to president, this is the podcast for you. But you'll have to endure my foul mouth. 13: On My Tenth Life
37:41|This week—it's just me. Telling you how I am. It's an update from the furthest reaches of the darkest corners of the outer banks of myself. But also, some commentary on 38 Special's 1981 hit “Hold on Loosely,” and, naturally, to Jeffrey Toobin's more recent incidence of holding on, though whether tightly or loosely remains, sadly unknown. #10: Schrödinger? I hardly know ‘er
36:18|This week we confront the confounding philosophical dilemma of personal identity over time, with references to the work of Dr. David Kyle Johnson and some discussion of time travel movies like Shane Carruth's Primer (2004) but also some digs at George Lucas. You can actually watch Primer for free on YouTube, here. “Matze” is featured courtesy of Frogbelly and Symphony, and is available on their album The EYE.
