Catch Up with Louise McSharry

Female Leadership, Ruadhán Ó'Críodáin and Rihanna's Half-time Show

Season 1, Ep. 48

In this week's news catch-up Aoife Moore and I talk about Nicola Sturgeon stepping down and how desperately we need more female leaders, as well as the horror of the murder of Brianna Ghey and the rest of the week's news. Ruadhán Ó Críodáin, executive director of ShoutOut, tells us about the work being done by the organisation to get into schools to make them as safe as possible for young LGBTQ+ people, as well as what we can do to ensure young trans people in Ireland are safe. Then, myself and Orlaith Condon of My Pod on Paper chat through the week's celeb news, and I finally release my thoughts on Rihanna's Halftime Show (safe space engaged, please do not come for me, or if you want to come for me, send it via 0892096423).

Only one recommendation this week, and it's Monica Heisey's Really Good, Actually.

Send your thoughts, feelings, opinions and suggestions to 0892096423!I promised you a recording of a conversation I had with David Nicholls on Monday night at ILDF, but unfortunately that recording appears to have been lost. I'm devo - there was a technical issue during the chat where our microphones went out and apparently what actually had happened was that the sound desk shut down and the recording was deleted. Gutting, to say the least. Fortunately, I was planning on bringing you a recording of my chat with Pillow Queens from my most recent live show anyway, so it just moved up the schedule a little. I hope you enjoy.Get tickets to see Pillow Queens in the Iveagh Gardens here!To support the podcast and access bonus episodes join our community on Patreon.
