Doubt is not the enemy of faith. It can actually be a doorway into a deeper relationship with God. The Old Testament prophet Habakkuk modeled this well by bringing his raw, honest questions directly to God rather than suppressing them or walking away from his faith altogether. He cried out about injustice, violence, and the apparent silence of God, and God responded, though not in any way Habakkuk expected. Faith is not the absence of questions. It is the willingness to bring those questions to the One who is big enough to hold them.
