Call to Delight

This episode wraps up the first season of our podcast. Li-Li and I talk about what comes up in our hearts when we think about the last 8 weeks making this podcast together. Spoiler: We love being friends. We talk about what's it's been like carving out time to intentionally think about delight as friends and the goodness inherent in camaraderie and togetherness.

Li-Li’s delight of the week - Listening to my mother telling the stories of her childhood and witnessing her emotions as she recollects very impactful moments in her life that she hasn't spoken of - or thought of, in a very long time.Yeon Joo's delight of the week - Watching Eurovision 2021 with my Dutch friend (albeit separately in our individual homes). It was campy, wacky, and absolutely delightful.

Li-Li’s delight of the week - Receiving and reading Goodbye, again by Jonny Sun. Although only half-way through, this book has invited me to reflect on the joy, gratitude, and proudness I feel towards many of the intricate ways my parents and Chinese culture has shaped me into who I am today.  Yeon Joo's delight of the week - Figuring out how to bid and buy on the popular Dutch second-hand online platform Marktplaats! Only took 2.5 years to figure it out. A tiny but significant accomplishment in my bid to create a life in this foreign land
