BYLINE TIMES PODCAST
Cost of Living Health Crisis
Health bosses are warning of a "public health emergency" and a rise in excess winter deaths unless the government takes action to help people deal with rising energy prices.
The NHS Confederation which represents health service managers in England, Wales and Norther Ireland says that with annual energy bills going up to £3,600 a year October – before increasing again in April - more people will be forced to choose between heating and eating.
They say this will lead to more illness and – quotes – intolerable pressure on front line NHS staff.
