The Brunton Bugle - A Carlisle United Podcast

Walsall (H) - Preview - Season 21/22, Episode 24

Season 2, Ep. 24

Another episode of The Brunton Bugle, another defeat for Lee and Mike to look back on this! This time it's the 2-0 loss to Harrogate at Brunton Park which leaves United firmly in the bottom two, having set a new club record of five league games without a goal. Up for discussion is just where a goal is going to come from and how long will it take our Director of Football, Teflon Dave, to come out and speak about the current situation.

There's also a preview of this weekend's clash against Walsall at Brunton Park. This includes:

  • A chat with Tom from the One Pod Beyond Walsall podcast about their recent upturn in form.
  • A look back at a classic match featuring a famous comeback 26 years ago.
  • A look at some of the players who played for both clubs.
  • And the usual run-down of how the opposition has got on this season.

On top of all this, there's the usual news round-up and catch-up on how ex-Blues have got on in the last week.

Your host Lee Rooney is in Liverpool and is joined via the wonders of the internet by Mike Booth in Formby. You can find us on Twitter @bruntonbugle, Facebook (search for "Brunton Bugle") and email us with any questions, suggestions and feedback to bruntonbugle@gmail.com.

  • 3. Bitesize Bugle - Miguel Azeez Interview - Season 26/27, Episode 3

    16:35||Season 7, Ep. 3
    With the new season almost upon us, we're making sure you've got plenty of content to keep you entertained ahead of the big kick-off this weekend. The second of FOUR episodes out this week is our first "Bitesize Bugle" (or should it be "Pintsized"?) episode - a little appetiser ahead of the longer-form versions of the show. For this mini-episode, we're chatting to none-other than United's new number 6, summer signing Miguel Azeez! The former Arsenal man may only be 23, but he's already had an interesting and varied career - from training with the likes of David Luiz, Bakayo Saka and Granit Xhaka to spells in Spain and Greece, before catching United's attention at Morecambe last season. Plenty to cover and certainly comes across as someone who'll be a strong and positive character in the Blues' dressing room this season.Thanks to Miguel for giving up his time and for the media team at the club for helping to arrange this chat - hopefully we'll get a few more for you across the season!Keep an eye out for the Worthing preview later this week, along with the new standalone "Behind Enemy Lines" series starting on Saturday morning.Host: Lee Rooney (@leerooney)-------------------Find us on X (@bruntonbugle), Facebook (search for "Brunton Bugle") and Instagram (@bruntonbugle)You can email us with any questions, suggestions and feedback at bruntonbugle@gmail.com.-----------------We’re delighted to confirm that the Carlisle United Supporters Trust (CUST) will be sponsoring the Brunton Bugle once again this season.CUST, formed originally in 2001 as CCUIST and later known as CUOSC, is the supporters' trust for Carlisle United.
