"Don't wait for a life-altering event to change your life." Author Antonio Neves challenges us to endorse ourselves, leave excuses in the dust, get out of the funk we’re in, and follow our dreams. Everyone knows someone who has experienced major adversity, like a divorce, drug overdose, near-death situation, life-threatening diagnosis, or deep trauma that helped turn their lives around. But don’t wait for something serious to happen to you. You can change your life today.

On today’s Broken Brain Podcast, our host Dhru talks to Antonio Neves. Antonio is a nationally recognized leadership speaker, author, and award-winning journalist. For over 10 years, Antonio worked as a correspondent in the television industry in New York City with top networks including NBC, PBS, and BET Networks. His podcast, The Best Thing, features Antonio asking others about the best thing to happen to them that would rarely appear on a resume, bio, or come up in conversation.

In this episode, Dhru and Antonio talk all about getting out of your funk. It is normal to reach low points, feel stuck, or get in a rut from time to time. It’s okay to experience these hiccups. But don’t live there. If not for you, but because someone else needs you to; someone needs your work. Antonio tells us about his experience of reaching an ultimate low, feeling lost, and exactly how he overcame it to share his creative gifts with the world. We have all been there, and will be there again, but it’s important that we recognize the funk and work our way out.

#222: 7 Ways to Protect Your Brain from Harmful Electromagnetic Radiation (Especially at Night!)

Season 2, Ep. 7
Welcome to The Big Idea of the Week!On today’s episode of The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru shares 7 tips for protecting your brain from harmful electromagnetic radiation.(1) Don’t plug your cell phone into the wall next to your bed when you sleep. Ideally, put it on the opposite side of the room.(2) Don’t leave anything else plugged in next to your head, bed or night stand. This includes an alarm clock, lamp, lights, or any other device that plugs into a wall. Anything plugged into a wall emits some amount of dirty electricity and for a lot of people that’s where the bulk of their EMF exposure comes from.(3) Avoid using your laptop or cell phone while it’s charging.(4) Avoid sleeping with your head or body near a wall that has an electric panel or electric appliance on the other side.(5) If you have kids remember their brains are smaller, remove any devices that are plugged in their rooms next to their beds. Their skulls aren’t as thick as adults, so they are at greater risk.(6) Turn your Wi-Fi off at night and if you can’t, don’t have your Wi-Fi in your room at night when you sleep. This goes for Wi-Fi routers or extenders.(7) Consider using an earthing mat for your bed. Also mentioned in this episode:-Dr. Devra Davis - https://ehtrust.org/about/dr-devra-davis/EMF Studies Overview:-Powerlines, Magnetic Field and Extremely Low Frequency Fields - https://ehtrust.org/science/research-on-magnetic-fields-extremely-low-frequency-electromagnetic-fields-cancer-and-miscarriage/-Dr. De-Kun Li, Senior Research Scientist at the Division of Research, Kaiser PermanenteExposure to EMF and Risk of Miscarriage, Asthma, Obesity Dr. De Kun Li, Kaiser Permanente - https://youtu.be/K5_MAvpikjsReferenced Articles:-Banned in Europe, Safe in The US - https://ensia.com/features/banned-in-europe-safe-in-the-u-s/-The Answer is 17 Years, What is The Question: Understanding Time Lags in Translational Research - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3241518/-Association Between Maternal Fluoride Exposure During Pregnancy and IQ Scores in Offspring in Canada - https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/fullarticle/2748634Podcasts:-Episode #106 - The Growing Concern with Electromagnetic Radiation and Frequencies with Dr. Carlos Ritter - https://drhyman.com/blog/2020/04/27/bb-ep106/-Episode #207 - The Dangers of Fluoride on the Brain and IQ with Dr. Mark Burhenne - https://drhyman.com/blog/2021/04/15/dp-ep207/For more on Dhru Purohit, be sure to follow him on Instagram @dhrupurohit, on Facebook @dhruxpurohit, on Twitter @dhrupurohit, and on YouTube @dhrupurohit.
