That's why having menopause allies is crucial. However, what matters most in being a good ally is cultural competence, regardless of culture, colour, or race. Family culture can also play a significant role in how women experience menopause. Black women often feel unheard when seeking healthcare, which can further exacerbate their symptoms. However, some women may not participate in menopause research for various reasons. Overall, it's crucial to have allies who are culturally competent and willing to listen and learn to ensure that all women receive the support and care they need during this time.
