S8 Ep. 1: Rachel-My Beyond Surviving Story

As the Beyond Surviving Podcast enters its 8th season (whoa!), I am feeling called to do something special for 2021. Every month, I am going to interview a Beyond Surviving Graduate!


These amazing women and men who I have had the great honor to walk alongside in their healing journeys are going to be sharing their own stories of healing, discussing topics that they long to bring attention to – things like overcoming chronic pain, cultivating deep self-love, conquering fear, finding one’s voice, the healing power of art, navigating the court system and more!


And I thought I’d kick things off with my own story and what life looks like for me now 14 years after creating the Beyond Surviving program and living by the principles of this program!


I share how my story has evolved and changed over the years due to the continued integration of the abuse I’ve experienced. I get real about some of the fears I had to overcome in order to even step into this work. I share some of my favorite success stories of clients who I’ve had the honor to mentor over the years. Finally, I talk about what I hope this next year of Beyond Surviving will bring right before bursting into tears!

S8 Ep. 7: Jen-How Art Transformed Pain Into Purpose

Jen and I talk about the deep healing work she did in Beyond Surviving that helped her tap back into empowered choice. This was critical when her Dad sent her a hurtful letter, but rather than feel victimized, she activated choice and turned it into a work of art. This led her to further explore art expression, which has become a significant part of her healing. She shares with us some pro tips on how to get started with art expression and use it in your day to day to support your own healing journey!EXERCISE:Take a moment to close your eyes and imagine a calm, safe place. This could be a place that you have in your life now, a place that you have been in the past, a place you hope to go one day, or a place that you can only imagine in your mind. Create your relaxing and peaceful place with any art medium you choose. Come back to this feeling any time you need to by visualizing this safe, peaceful place again.
