There's an Oilers pre-season game against the Jets happening tonight, which meant I had to get myself organized if I was going to record the podcast in time to get settled in for the game.Kicking off the podcast, I started the show with some brand new music from Dangersuede after I spent the last few weeks asking why the BLTN original tunes had stopped flowing in. Even though he was an opponent throughout his career, Thursday night's news was heartbreaking in every possible way. Even days later, I still can't believe it.Changing gears, the Oilers signed Leon Draisaitl to an eight-year, $112 million contract extension on Tuesday, the news we've been waiting for basically all summer. As an Oilers fan my entire life, I had gotten used to our best players leaving when it came time to sign big deals, but yesterday's news basically erased all those memories from my early fandom.
