Dominic "Nick" Martorana - Murdered - 3/25/92

Season 1, Ep. 7

On March 24, 1992, Dominic Martorana, while working for the Metro Cab Company, was dispatched to pick-up a fare in the 400 block of North Fifth Street in the city of Reading. That was the last radio contact with Martorana and it is unknown if that fare was ever picked up.

Martorana was last observed operating his cab between 9:30 and 10 p.m. in the city. On March 25,1992, at 12:50 a.m., the victim's cab was discovered at Skyline Drive and List Road in Lower Alsace Township, Berks County. The cab was unoccupied and the investigation revealed that the cab had been set on fire. It has been determined that a dark skinned male was observed walking away from the cab fire and it is believed that this individual is involved in the incident.

This subject was described as wearing a dark colored jacket with a gold emblem, described as a lightning bolt or stripe. Martorana's body was discovered in the Schuylkill River at the Kernsville Dam in Hamburg at 10:45 a.m. on March 25,1992. An autopsy revealed that Martorana had been stabbed 39 times with a knife. If you have information on this homicide, you are encouraged to call Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-4PA- TIPS.
