Why Some Marriages Stay Passionate And Some Don't

Ep. 27

In this episode, I’m talking about why some marriages stay passionate and others don’t, and what I’ve seen play out in my own marriage. I don’t believe passion is something you either have or you don’t. I think it’s something we create, through how we show up for ourselves and how we prioritize our relationship, even in the middle of the mental load and everything life brings.

I share what’s actually worked for us, from continuing to grow as an individual to staying playful, intentional, and open with each other. Passion doesn’t just disappear. It fades when it’s no longer a priority.

  • 28. Loving Your Life and Still Longing for More

    12:47||Ep. 28
    This episode is for the woman who chose this life, who loves her family deeply, and still feels the quiet ache of the parts of herself that was put on pause. I talk about what it really looks like to be the one holding everything together behind a big life, the identity shift no one prepares you for, and the truth that both things can exist at once, deep fulfillment and longing for more. I share my own experience of missing the version of me that felt engaged, creative, and out in the world, and how I slowly began to find my way back to her without walking away from the life I love. This is a conversation about honoring what you’ve given, recognizing the cost, and remembering that your own vision still matters.
  • 26. The List That Never Ends

    09:41||Ep. 26
    Behind every great man is a great woman carrying a mental load nobody sees. In this episode, I’m talking about the invisible thinking mothers do all day long, the constant background process running in our minds before the day even begins, and a thousand tiny details that keep everyone’s life running smoothly. This episode is a pause to name that reality, the open tabs that never close, the quiet mental work that holds families together. Because sometimes the mental load does not need to be fixed, it just needs to be seen.
  • 25. Full Life, Missing The Village

    14:40||Ep. 25
    In this episode, I talk about the quiet loneliness many women feel inside a full life. Even surrounded by family, a beautiful home, and people who love us, the emotional weight we carry as mothers and partners can still feel incredibly isolating. I explore the difference between loneliness and feeling truly alone, why the modern “village” has largely disappeared, and how many women quietly carry more than anyone around them realizes. I also share a few simple ways to begin rebuilding real connection, with our friends, with other women, and with the person lying next to us at night.
  • 24. It Was Never About The Trash (With My Husband, Keith)

    23:30||Ep. 24
    In this episode, we’re talking about the thing we say is about the trash… but never actually is. When you find yourself repeating a request over and over, it’s usually not about the chore. It’s about wanting to feel like you have a partner. It’s about shared responsibility, follow-through, and knowing you’re not carrying the weight of your home and life alone. I unpack how “nagging” often starts as a simple ask for help and slowly turns into frustration when the deeper need underneath isn’t being acknowledged.We explore the psychology behind repetition, protest behavior, and over-functioning in marriage, and how tone and energy can either invite connection or create resistance. I share personal moments from my own marriage and walk you through a Weekly Pause to help you identify what you’re really asking for. Because when you say the real thing underneath the request, you move from managing your husband to partnering with him — and that shift changes everything.
  • 23. The Softest Form Of Strength

    11:54||Ep. 23
    In this episode, we’re talking about the quiet way strong women accidentally block the very love and support they crave. We learned how to be capable, independent, the one who handles everything, and somewhere along the way “I’ve got it” became our identity. But what if constantly over giving is keeping you exhausted and subtly disconnecting you from your man? I unpack why receiving can feel uncomfortable, how our worth gets tied to being useful, and how over functioning removes space for him to pursue, provide, and show up. We talk nervous systems, self respect, polarity, and the simple one degree shifts that can change the energy in your marriage. This isn’t about becoming needy. It’s about becoming open. Because receiving isn’t weakness, it’s strength in its softest, most magnetic form.Learn more:Jessica: Instagram | WebsiteIf you enjoyed this episode, then please either:Follow, rate, and review on Apple PodcastsFollow and rate on SpotifyWatch our videos on our YouTube Channel!Connect with us on Instagram!
  • 22. Loyalty Beyond The Lifestyle

    12:34||Ep. 22
    In this episode, we’re talking about something foundational in marriage: support and loyalty. The kind that holds through pressure, risk, uncertainty, and big life moves.I share what true support actually looks like inside a partnership and what it doesn’t. Supporting your husband is not about becoming subservient. It’s about standing beside him as a grounded, strong woman who chooses partnership. When trust and loyalty are mutual, intimacy deepens. When they erode, so does the marriage.From our move to Silicon Valley and the risks that come with bold ambition, this episode explores the upward spiral of mutual support and the downward spiral that happens when it’s missing. If you want a marriage built on trust, devotion, and deep partnership, this conversation is for you.Learn more:Jessica: Instagram | WebsiteIf you enjoyed this episode, then please either:Follow, rate, and review on Apple PodcastsFollow and rate on SpotifyWatch our videos on our YouTube Channel!Connect with us on Instagram!
  • 21. To The Woman Who Feels Everything

    14:59||Ep. 21
    In this episode of Behind Every Great Man, we’re honoring the woman who feels everything, the one who experiences life in full color. The woman who’s been told she’s too sensitive, too emotional, too much. I share my own story of growing up deeply sensitive, trying to manage my tears, hide my emotions, and hold it together in a world that celebrates toughness and restraint. Together, we explore why sensitivity is so often misunderstood, how culture teaches women to harden themselves, and what research actually shows. This episode is an invitation to stop fixing, managing, or apologizing for your sensitivity and instead learn to meet it with compassion and safety. Through reflection, research, faith, and a gentle weekly pause, I invite you to soften again, to trust your emotions, and to honor the heart God gave you. 13:44||Ep. 20
