  • Auto Correct | Antique Car Talk with Special Guest Pete

    46:48
The definition of an antique car varies by organization and legal purpose. Generally, an antique car is a vehicle that is at least 25–45 years old, or manufactured before World War II. However, some antique car collectors consider any car that is more than 20 years old to be an antique. A car is considered a classic in Mississippi if it's at least 25 years old. When a vehicle in Mississippi meets these requirements, the owner can register it as an antique vehicle, which will allow the car to use special license plates.Special Guest: PeteEmail the show: auto@mpbonline.orgRecalls: Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSANews: Mississippi claims No. 1 spot on USA Today's best car shows of the yearAuto Casey Car Review: 2025 Subaru Forester | Short Take

Original Air Date: 6/15/2023Vehicle insurance (also known as car insurance, motor insurance, or auto insurance) is insurance for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other road vehicles. Its primary use is to provide financial protection against physical damage or bodily injury resulting from traffic collisions and against liability that could also arise from incidents in a vehicle. Vehicle insurance may additionally offer financial protection against theft of the vehicle, and against damage to the vehicle sustained from events other than traffic collisions, such as keying, weather or natural disasters, and damage sustained by colliding with stationary objects. The specific terms of vehicle insurance vary with legal regulations in each region. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_insuranceSpecial guest caller: Insurance Commissioner Mike ChaneyEmail the show: auto@mpbonline.orgRecalls: Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSANews: Uninsured Motorist Statistics By State [2023]Auto Casey Car Review: 2023 Land Rover Defender 130

Properly maintained tires can help you stay safer on the road and save money on gas in the long run. Goodyear’s Michiel Kramer, director of Product Marketing recommends keeping the following considerations in mind: Check your door panel for tire pressure: Recommended tire pressure is included right on a small sticker located on the driver’s side door jamb! Check here first, so you don’t have to guess. Hot summer roads and increased sun exposure mixed with underinflated or overinflated tires can be a one-way street to a tire blowout, so it’s important to be on top of your tire pressure this summer.Check your tire treads: High temperatures can cause your tires to wear out faster, leading to decreased traction. You can quickly check your tire tread by inserting a penny into your tire – if Lincoln’s head doesn’t sink into the tire groove, it’s time for new tires.Make sure you have the right tires: As a rule of thumb, you should remove winter tires once the overnight temperature is consistently above 45°F and switch back to all-season or summer tires, such as Cooper Cobra Instinct®. If off-roading adventures are on your summer bucket list, check out the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac® RT.You can get your tires inspected for FREE: Drop by a Goodyear Auto Service center to get a Free Car Care Check where a technician will conduct a thorough tire and vehicle inspection. Visit the nearest center for extra peace of mind before your trip!

A recent study looked at driving fatalities between 2017 and 2021 to reveal the most dangerous ages for drivers in every state. New data has revealed that young drivers aged 19 and under are the most at-risk drivers in America, as they report the highest rate of fatal road accidents.  The research analyzed car crashes reported between 2017 and 2021 to identify the age of each fatality and reveal the most at-risk. As well as this, the study examined the states that see the highest fatality rates per age group. Mississippi has been named the second most dangerous state for young drivers aged 19 and under, with 220 deaths per 100k licensed drivers. Shockingly, this is a 133% increase than the national average, which was revealed to be 97 fatalities per 100k drivers. Although it was drivers 19 and under who were most at risk in Mississippi, data also revealed that the second-deadliest age range for drivers is 20-29. In total, there are over 500 deaths per 100K for drivers under the age of 30 in Mississippi. Auto Casey: 2024 Toyota Crown | Short Take
